| monterey county, located on the central california coast, is facing a housing crisis. real estate and construction costs are greatly outpacing incomes at all levels, making housing in the county difficult or impossible to attain. aia architects have been asked by the area's us congressional representative and governmental leaders to respond to this challenge with visionary and viable solutions. the american institute of architects, monterey bay chapter [aiamb], in collaboration with aia california council, aia national, and with local,regional, state, and federal governmental support, is hosting an international competition, 'concepts,' to create housing solutions to benefit and sustain monterey county communities. for more information or to register, contact: website: http://concepts.aiamb.org/ |
