| the riba competitions office has been appointed to run a new open design competition on behalf of a private client for the design of a new office building, to be built on a prominent location close to preston city centre. this is a unique opportunity as the client has high aspirations for an exceptional building that will have a strong visual presence in a prominent location at the entrance to a major business park. the building must provide modern, flexible accommodation - a high quality office environment for many years to come. the competition brief is not prescriptive about the interior layout of the building - competitors will be asked to think about the creation of an attractive and efficient working environment, a building that is attractive and welcoming, designed with quality materials, and with flexibility to accommodate changes in terms of use and configuration. the building should provide 40,000 sq ft [gross] of accommodation on up to four storeys. the anticipated budget if £150/sq ft, which is considerably higher than the normal figure for a typical commercial building in the preston area. address riba competitions office, 6 melbourne street, leeds, ls2 7ps email competition : [email protected] competition web site : http://www.ribacompetitions.com/ phone +44 [0]113 234 1335 fax +44 [0]113 246 0744 |
