Students & young designers are called to participate in EeStairs international staircase design competition
Pan-European staircase design specialist EeStairs has launched a Design Competition for students and young designers interested in architecture, interior design, product design and other technical fields.
The company is looking for creativity in the design of a quirky, beautiful and innovative Custom Design staircase or practical knowledge in the development of a functional and practical Standard Design staircase or balustrade. The winning designs in each category will be awarded a prize of £2,000 and are expected to feature in an extensive range of publications connected with the award. Next to that, EeStairs has the intention [but no obligation] to produce one or more of the designs submitted. .
“We all use stairs every day of the week, but there is no reason why they shouldn’t be architecturally interesting design statements in their own right,” explains EeStairs creative director, Cornelis van Vlastuin.
“We are looking for young people who enjoy exploring the boundaries of what is technically possible in order to come up with refreshing new concepts and progressive designs. We want to work with them to nurture their talent.”
