This is our promise in this summer…
A. The BACKGROUND & the REQUIREMENTS OF THE DESIGNS
Shenzhen is a rising city on the seaside in the south china, with a coastline of 230 kilometers. Sunshine and the beach, motivating people's limitless youth as well as energy, make this city one of the most attracted places for the people who know how to enjoy life. As Shenzhen is developing very fast, the conditions of developing the seashore resource are more and more mature,and the seashore development in the eastern part of Shenzhen has become the focus of the public. A design presented by the EDAW, a well-known international design office, has won without a hitch. And the development zone of seaside holiday area in Xiasha will be a start-up project of the development of Da Peng town in Long Gang district. Xiasha, which is located in Da Peng town in Long Gang district, with its natural seashore resources superiority, will eventually become a gateway for developing ecological tourism in Shenzhen. Therefore, it will attract a large batch of tourists from all over the world, and grow into a city with the biggest capacity for ecological tourism and a terrific resort area in the south china. On the beach, the ingenious installment and use of architecture environmental infrastructure embody perfect combination of artificial intelligence with nature, and art with function. It also creates a more activated and comfortable Xiasha beach which is more pleasing to your eyes than now. There is no doubt that with these infrastructures, tourists will enjoy every minute on the beach, and then create a new, vital and attractive paradise for tourism. The requirements of designing architecture works:
1. Distinctive idea, novel mold-making, notable function and proper facilities.
2. Satisfying the tourists' mental needs and objective needs overall.
3. Showing beach life, pleasant feeling, relaxation, and carefree holidays fully, in order to enhance the building quality of the region.

D. THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE COMPETITON
1. Thesis
The infrastructure design of the architectural environment for the Xiasha beach of Shenzhen
2. Content
2.1. Containing the flowing themes:
2.1.1 Basic service installment: lavatory, outdoor shower area, shady area for rest and recreation, lifesaving platform, medical treatment & salvation spot.
2.1.2 Commercial service installment: shop fronts for small commodities, movable stores, outdoor bars, and shops for renting casual articles.
2.2 The works should be seriate design, and should pay attention to the harmony of the function of each item, mold-making etc.
2.3 All the building locations are at the designers' proposal. See detailed information about the parcels of land and the specific requirements in the Appendix One.
3. Principles for Designing Works
3.1comfortable and casual
The combination of working and entertainment has become the main way of enhancing modern life's quality, so outdoor causal activities after hard work should meet the needs of relaxing and restoring energy.
3.2 Natural and ecological
The Xiasha beach is rich in natural resources. The green mountains and clear water, the sunshine and the beach, are great masterpieces of the nature, a precious gift for the human beings. So human should live together with the nature harmoniously.
3.3 enjoyable beach life.
Architecture design is not only an expression of life experiences, but also an imagination construction for the space under special conditions. These infrastructure designs of the architectural environment are the enjoyment and imagination of the beach.
4. Works' Requirements
4.1 Blueprint
4.1.1 Whole ichnography
4.1.2 Environment disposal diagram for units.
4.1.3 Ichnography, three-dimensional drawing, sectional drawing of every unit
4.1.4 Effect drawing of units
4.1.5 Explanation of design concept
4.2 Requirements for handing in design
4.2.1 The design must meet the regulations of the design competition made by Long Gong branch office of Shenzhen City Planning & Land Resource Bureau.
4.2.2 The quality of the design must reach the requirements of the competition.
4.2.3 One share of bid comparison data and bid announcement data should be respectively prepared when the design is handed in. The comparison data and documents must include the name of the organization and the members. The announcement bidding result data and documents are not allowed to make any mark.
4.2.4 Content
4.2.4.1 Planning and whole ichnography should be designed in a scale of 1:---. Including micro-ichnography of each unit, index number, and the surroundings. Diagram paper: specification 1#.
4.2.4.2 Whole ichnography of each unit's position and the ichnography, three-dimensional drawing, sectional drawing, and design explanation of each unit. should be on the 1# diagram paper. The whole ichnography is put at the top left corner; the top right corner is the color diagram of the unit; the lower left corner is the ichnography of the unit, three-dimensional and sectional drawing; the explanation of the design of the unit is put at the lower right corner. Designers select the moderate scale according to contents and expression skills.
4.2.4.3 All design should have an electronic file. The file adopts the DOC. pattern of Microsoft Word2000; the design sketch documents adopt the DWG. pattern of Autocadr14, and the electronic pictures should be made documents of JPG.
4.2.4.4 Complete set design diagram paper should be made one-volume edition A3 [294*420].
4.2.5 The comparison data and documents of the competitors include: 4.2.4.1; 4.2.4.3with4.2.4.4 [totally one set]. On the documents and data, none recognizable marks can be made. The notarial office will seal the letter and number on the spot while they are handed in.
4.2.6 The announcement for bidding result data and documents of the competitor include: 4.2.4.1; 4.2.4.2; 4.2.4.3as well as 4.2.4.4 [totally one set]. Seal is demanded. [A unit must press official seal, the private press personal seal or signature].
4.3 All the letter bags will be provided by sponsor.
4.4 Blueprint mounting uses 841*594*5 mm foam boards as bottom mounts.
4.5 Please forgive that we won't return any competition works, and please back up for yourselves. The sponsor has the right to publish the competition works.
E. THE HANDLES OF HANDING IN WORKS, RELATIVE DATA & THE REVERSIONS OF COPYRIGHT
1. We won't return any competition works and relative data [including an application form，commitment letter for copyright and status certification document] they are sent to the Competition Organizing Committee.
2. All copyrights of the works acquiring agreements of competitors and other relative parts will be handled by the committee letter for copyrights signed by the competitors.
F. COMPETITOR
1. Teachers and students from every domestic architectural design organization, Architecture College, Art College.
2. The author's name, unit, address, post code, telephone number, and fax must be noted clearly. [One marks in CD, and the other marks at the lower right corner on the back of every design program.]
3. Application:
The applicants can land Long Gong Planning Research Center of Shenzhen website www.szupip.com for competition files, and download the ARCHITECTURAL ENVIROMENTAL FACILITIES' DESIGN COMPETITION before July 31st, 2003[see Appendix Two]; then send them to assistant unit by E-mail, fax or mail.
4. Sponsor will offer the competitors certain fund for designing.
G. ITEMS OF SELECTING THROUGH PUBLIC evaluation
1. This evaluation work will proceeded in October2th, 2003.
2. Competition Evaluation Committee
2.1 This competition has set the First Evaluation Committee and the Final Evaluation Committee, and they will do first selection as well as final selection for the works handed in formally.
2.2 The Evaluation Committee members are selected and invited by Competition Evaluation Committee.
In order to ensure correct evaluation and orientation of the works, the organization committee decides to organize The First Evaluation Committee by each college and design organization professional in charge, as well as invite domestic experts of architectural world and art world to undertake evaluation committee members at the same time.
2.3 In order to ensure the fair of selection, above the list of the evaluation committee members will be public when the result is announced.
3. The evaluation result will be public through relative media.
4. The works that win will get bonus and certificate from the sponsor, and then will be compiled and published formally.
H. PRIZE SETTING:
