students and young professionals are advised to join together
to form multi-disciplinary teams [artists, designers, landscapers,
architects].
after december 13th 2002, participants may still join in
teams. to this end, lists of participants in the competition will
be available on the edf and apci internet sites from
december 16th.

>> elements to be included
by 14th march 2003, 7.00 pm, teams of entrants should have
submitted a detailed study in french or english which will set
out their approach and their vision of the project. the study
is to be presented in the form of an a3 dossier of no more
than 10 spreads on right-hand pages only, comprising:
- a one-page summary, which edf and apci can
use to describe the project,
- the presentation and justification
of the chosen site,
- the concept,
- an illustration of the project and how
it would develop,
- an aerial plan,
- depending upon how visible the turbines are, how visible the
project is in the landscape and/or how it would develop over
time, one or more versions: from close up, from a short distance
away and from a long way away from the turbines, and/or
in the short, medium and long term. the sheets are to be numbered
and should be able to be presented separately.
each project should be accompanied by :
- a cd containing all the documentation [texts, photos,
designs] in digital form,
- biographical details of each member of the team, with
one or two images of their projects or creations
[a maximum of two a4 pages per entrant],
- a declaration in a sealed envelope, signed by members of
the participating team, confirming that the project is their
own work and that all the sections submitted have been
produced by them.
the projects are not to be signed and must not carry any distinguishing
marks except for a reference which will be given
to each participating team when they register. teams which
are formed after 13th december will have a choice of the
references which have been given to entrants who have
already registered, and who are members of the team.
a preselection will be made at the end of march, the chosen
entrants will have to develop their projects further for
the final selection which will be held in june 2003.

>> awarding of prizes
the competition has the sum of 16,000 _ to divide between
the five prize-winners as follows :
• 1st prize : 6,000 _
• 2nd prize : 4,000 _
• 3rd prize : 3,000 _
• 4th prize : 2,000 _
• 5th prize : 1,000 _
prizes will be awarded according to the judges’ decisions.
they will be paid by apci to the prize-winners within two
months of being awarded. all entrants will be informed in
writing of the results of the competition within two months
of the closing date. the projects will be insured by the organiser
during the selection and exhibition period.

>> ownership of models
it is the responsibility of participants to protect their models
by depositing a model or a patent with the appropriate organisation.
sending back the registration signifies acceptance by the
participant of the conditions of this competition.
>> confidentiality and preservation
of the projects
prize-winners’ anonymity is guaranteed until the prizes are
awarded.
projects will be kept on apci’s premises for three months following
the awarding of prizes. during this time, participants
will be able to reclaim their dossiers on request, at their own
expense. after this time, edf will be free to dispose of projects
which have not been claimed.
>> grounds for exclusion
a project will be excluded:
- if it arrives after the closing date. if it is delayed in transit,
acceptance will be at the discretion of the panel of judges.
- if it does not follow the scheme set out in these conditions.
>> valorization of results
the projects could be brought together in an exhibition following
the competition. a booklet will be published for this and
will be available for inspection on the internet. participants will
give organisers the right to use their project in information
about the competition. they will be quoted as creators of the
project. following the competition, edf may offer certain teams a
specific
contract to develop their ideas.

in projects.
* mid-march: technical committee. this will be
made up of the chairman of the panel of judges, representatives
of edf, and a representative of apci, and will
examine all the projects which are received. the committee
will eliminate those projects which do not
conform to the rules and conditions.
* end of march: short list. the panel of judges will
meet for the first time to examine all the dossiers chosen
by the technical committee, and will have the
opportunity to look at the discarded dossiers. the panel
of judges will choose between 5 and 10 projects. they
will have the sum of 7,500 e at their disposal to share
out between teams on the short list for the final presentation
of their projects.
*may 31st 2003: closing date for finalised projects.
* june 2003: selection and final meeting of panel of
judges.
* june 2003: announcement of results and presentation
of prize-winning projects.
the organisers reserve the right to modify the calendar
