Currently the hotel room has a standardized configuration, but society is more dynamic and demands other needs. Thus, a hotel room for a couple will not have the same requirements as a room for a business man/woman, or a family. In this sense, the contest aims to rethink this space in a critical and innovative way.

DECORHOTEL is the only fair held in Portugal dedicated exclusively to the hotel and related sectors, bringing together hundreds of companies that supply and support this important segment of the national economy. Given the current scenario, the fair will focus on technological tools for the tourism of the future, being essential for players that move in this sector. DECORHOTEL appears as a space that promotes the meeting between supply and demand, with a view to closing deals, and is a privileged opportunity to promote contacts between all professionals working in this area of ​​activity.
The fair includes all areas necessary for the construction, refurbishment, remodeling and decoration of hotel units and the like, ranging from construction, architecture and interior design, decoration, textiles, equipment, management and technology, amenities and hygiene and cleaning products , furniture, lighting and equipment for the outdoors.

The word hotel derived from the French term hôtel refers to buildings that frequently welcome travelers. In recent years, the phenomenon of tourism has gained increasing importance, contributing on the one hand to the economic growth of various regions in the world, but also to the unrestrained growth of hotels whose principles are often questionable from the point of view of preservation biodiversity and sustainability of places. Did we take advantage of this contest to open a debate about what the hotel rooms of the future will be like? How can we reverse existing standardization? How can we think of sustainable solutions where human occupation does not pose a threat to the areas where these constructions will be built? How can technology help us to incorporate so-called sustainable materials and practices? In this sense, the competition aims to rethink the hotel room, combining all future challenges.

CONTEST MODEL
The contest will take place during a Decor Hotel 2021 on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of October at FIL [Lisbon International Fair]. On the 21st [opening of the fair] the contest briefing will be made available to all participants [previously registered]. These will have until the 22nd to respond to the assumptions in the contest program. The evaluation and awards will be made on the 23rd.
