Fettle drew on the existing aesthetic synonymous with the Hoxton brand and used the building itself and its locality as reference points for he design. The building was constructed in the 1970's and the interiors drew inspiration from mid-century Italian design, pairing this with classic architectural details found within some of the more traditional buildings in the neighbourhood.

Andy Goodwin, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Fettle, comments, ‘'We had to ensure that we created a space that worked for both the surrounding community as well as hotel guests, so understanding the local culture played a huge part of the design process. We took inspiration from the location as well as cues from the building’s original details.

Fettle wanted the hotel to feel comfortable and inviting, using a variety of seating arrangements to cater for guests at all times of the day, whether socialising, working or relaxing. The space was designed to feel residential in its scale with layered accessories and lighting. Theatrical elements including the curved coffee bar, main dispense bar and open kitchen have been positioned to offer guests great views of the action from all areas of the hotel. The layout has been designed so each space flows seamlessly together, which also ensures that the hotel can provide a stellar service throughout.

The hotel features distinctive and sculptural chandeliers that run throughout the main lobby with brass and smoked glass globes. Bespoke semi-flush Murano inspired ceiling lights were also used to illuminate the bar and help direct circulation routes of the space. Fettle also designed bespoke wall and bar lighting and introduced vintage pendant lighting over the coffee bar. Additionally, vintage floor and table lighting have been employed to provide a soft glow at low level around the space.

Architecturally, a natural palette has been utilised with finishes including timber clad columns, patterned brickwork and textured plaster walls. This is offset by rich textures and playful fabrics used throughout the space, statement rugs, and eclectic artwork.
