The Shape the Future Design Competition, co-presented by Metropolis and DuPont™ Corian®, seeks proposals that show how students and professionals in the design community would transform the familiar 20th century material into 21st century, tech-age environments, surfaces, spaces, structures, art, furniture, and objects that address a design challenge or enliven such building segments as Healthcare, Workplace, Education, Retail, Residential, Hotels, Restaurants, Transportation, Institutional, and Cultural.
Forward-thinkers who are able to move beyond the material’s time-tested associations will earn a $10,000 prize purse—$7,000 for the winner and $1,500 each for two runners-up—as well as international publicity via Metropolis, metropolismag.com, corian.com, their respective social media channels and possible exhibitions at one or more of the DuPont™ Corian® Design Studios.
